Área polivalente do Hospital Moisès Broggi
Moisès Broggi multi-purpose space hospital was built to improve Covid-19 pandemic situation by Health Department of Generalitat de Catalunya.
The new extension project was carried out as a matter of urgency, using industrialised procedures and Lean methodology.
The basic project, executive project and all the construction of the building were completed in just 4 months, following initial requirements: create a compact, modular and quickly constructed building.
The project was designed by architect Luis Moran, from the Moran Arq Slp studio, who wins the public contest. The result is a space that allows maximum versatility and adaptability located on the west side of the existing hospital, occupying a surface area of 4,643 m2 spread over 4 floors. The first three have about a hundred beds - arranged to be activated according to the evolution of the pandemic or health needs of the moment - while the fourth is for technical services.
In order to protect the building from solar radiation and contribute to its aesthetics, comfort and improved energy efficiency, the project main façades are eqquiped with Brise Soleil BT 400 Series fixed louvres, made up of vertical aluminium louvres with a tubular design and rectangular shapes.
