Lycée Honore de Balzac

The close relationship of our company Gradhermetic with prestigious real estate brands and architecture studios has allowed us to participate in projects of high impact and great complexity. Some examples of these facilities studied and developed in our department of special works (Llambí), are the best examples of our products and services, not only for their great attractiveness and visibility, but also for how they challenged us and helped us to improve our solutions until the excellence.

  
One of these projects is the "Lycée Honoré de Balzac" carried out by Gradhermetic and in close collaboration with the NBJ architecture studio in Montpellier. This once again highlights the result of the close collaboration between Architecture and Industry, adapting the design to the expectations of the projects.

The challenge was to achieve with a single element, to solve different applications in the university complex. The solution was achieved with the development of a tubular lattice of extruded aluminum slats, fixed and adjustable with special hidden structure. A set of fittings and slats, minimizing and unifying them allowed to make with fixed slats, both the fences, the Pergolas, the Quitavistas in exterior corridors and terraces, concealment of facilities as well as protection against glare in the classrooms with adjustable slats. In the latter, with the same section as the fixed ones, no other difference can be seen than their orientation, due to a laminar frame structure common to all of them, hidden behind the slats.

Another challenge of the project was in unifying the appearance of the restored buildings with those of new execution. Laboratory areas, training rooms, residential area and services that through the installation of the lattice will form a solar filter generating a thermal and light comfort in the interior
The colors correspond to a decline in the colors of the region (Languedoc-Roussillon) because it is a public school.
This Lycée Agricole with capacity for 300 students where more than 100 are in boarding regime, has 2000 m2 of greenhouse equipped with the most advanced technologies of environmental control.

This and other unique projects carried out in Europe and Latin America attest to the commitment of Industrial Gradhermetic with Architecture.
